Opening Hours

Harpsden Pre-School is open from Monday to Thursday, term time only.  Our standard morning session is 9.15am – 12pm.  All children have the option of staying for lunch until 1pm – children bring a packed lunch and drink from home and we ask parents to support the pre-school’s healthy eating and nut-free policies when making their child’s packed lunch.

In addition, we also offer Rising 4 sessions on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1pm – 2.45pm for our older children who will be turning 4 during the academic year.  These sessions concentrate on the children’s next steps, including numeracy and literacy, and help prepare them for Primary School.  On Monday afternoons we have launched our new Forest School which runs from 1pm – 2.45pm for children aged 3 and over.

Teacher/Child Ratios

There is a maximum of 20 children per session with a supervisor, a deputy and at least one assistant on duty each day.

We provide a staffing ratio in line with the Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage to ensure that children have sufficient individual attention to guarantee care and education of high quality. We provide staff levels of one adult to four children under three years and a minimum of one adult to eight children aged between three and five years.
