Parents and
the Pre-School
Our
pre-school is run by a parent-led committee comprising Chairperson,
Treasurer, Secretary and general committee members. As such parental
and carer involvement is an integral part of the Pre-School. Committee
members are usually elected at the AGM in September, but anyone wishing
to join the committee at another time will be very welcome and should
speak to any existing committee member for more information.
For Your
Information...
To
help you feel welcome we have a parents’ notice-board, which you are
encouraged to check regularly.
It displays news of social events, fund-raising activities,
policies and information to keep you up to date with Pre-School life.
We also produce regular newsletters for all parents and encourage
your feedback and comments.
These
can be emailed if you wish – please ensure that Victoria Henderson
(Administrator) has your correct email address.
Fundraising
Various
fund-raising events are undertaken throughout the year, enabling us to
buy equipment with the money raised and everyone is encouraged to take
part.
We are a non-profit making organisation and a registered charity.
Parental rota
of help
We operate a help rota for the washing
up (children's drink cups) and also request
donations of food for the children’s snack time – ideas for healthy
snacks that your child enjoys are always welcome.
Volunteers are needed to take home the pre-school washing at the end of
the week (aprons, hand towels and tea towels). In addition we ask for help with outings and educational visits.
Any other skills?
We
are always keen to involve parents on the educational side as well as on
the Committee. If
any parent has any particular skill or interest eg musical, theatrical,
artistic, they would like to share with the children they are more than
welcome to participate in any session. |
