Admissions and Attendance Policy

Conditions of Attendance

Clothing & Footwear : Children should wear comfortable clothes and bring coats and boots to wear outside - depending on the weather. All coats and footwear should be clearly marked with your child’s name.  In hot weather please provide your child with a hat and apply sunscreen. Please ensure your child wears uncomplicated clothing rather than lots of zips and buttons – this makes going to the toilet much easier for them!  Don’t worry, though, accidents do happen and we have a supply of spare clothing just in case.

Potty Training : It is our preference that your child is toilet trained before starting the Pre-School and can go to the toilet unassisted. We are, however, sympathetic to the needs of each individual child and will wholeheartedly support those still in nappies or pull-ups and will support any toilet-training routines started at home.

Break Times : There is a break during each morning when the children sit together for a drink of milk or water and fruit, biscuit or snack (free of charge).  Please let us know if your child has any particular dietary requirements, religious requirements or allergies when they start. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT HARPSDEN PRE-SCHOOL OPERATES A NO NUT POLICY. PLEASE ENSURE THAT ANY CAKES, BISCUITS OR PACKED LUNCH THAT YOUR CHILD MAY BRING IN DOES NOT CONTAIN NUTS OF ANY DESCRIPTION.

Emergencies : Please keep us informed of a telephone contact number where you can always be reached, in case of an emergency.  If this is not possible please nominate at least one other person who we can contact in an emergency, e.g. husband, grandparent, neighbour. In the case of an emergency we will try to contact you on these numbers, and if we are not able to get hold of you we will then try your nominated contacts as provided by you on the admissions form.
